Top goalscorer Rutendo Makore was once again on the score-sheet, netting her 33rd goal of the season while Aldigrade Bhamu made sure the army side took the crown with a game to spare.
Rhinos, who won the title last season when the league was still unbranded, have 44 points while second-placed Mufakose Queens are on 38 points.
Rudo Neshamba’s Inline Academy are also on 38 points, but are on fourth position due to an inferior goal difference.
“This is a reward for some good work all season,” said Rhinos coach Thomas Chinyanganya yesterday.
“We prepared well for the season and the commitment was there for everyone to see. The sponsorship also motivated the team. There are other good teams like Mufakose Queens and Inline Academy who gave us a very good run and I’m really excited that we managed to defend our title. We worked very hard for it,” added Chinyanganya.
Rhinos will be presented with their trophy and prize money at a function to be held on Wednesday. The prize money will only be unveiled at the event.
