SWEDEN-based Zimbabwean prolific striker Nyasha Mushekwi, who has attracted interest from several cash-rich European clubs, says he is prepared to play in any league where he is guaranteed game time.

Mushekwi is in the country on a short break and yesterday said he was not yet sure about his next destination, but stated he was ready to play in any league as long as he would play consistently.
“I have heard of the offers, but there is nothing concrete yet. The season is ending sometime in October and by then I will have known where I will be playing. But I am ready to play in any league — England, Italy or Spain — as long as I play consistently,” Mushekwi said. “I am still a Mamelodi Sundowns player and they have the final say. I have settled well in Sweden and hope I will be able to finish top goal scorer.”
Mushekwi — who is on loan at Djurgardens from parent club Sundowns — remains the leading goal scorer in Sweden after stretching his total for the season to 10 goals.
The tall forward has scored his goals from 11 starts, really impressive for a striker who only joined the club at the beginning of the season after spending most of last year battling with a knee injury which forced him to cut short his loan spell at Belgian club KV Oostende.
That prolific goal scoring form has attracted the attention of European teams, including English Premier League (EPL) side Leicester City.

Other teams that have reportedly joined the race to sign the Zimbabwean striker are Netherlands sides FC Groningen and SC Heerenveen, Bundesliga clubs Harmburger SV, FC Augsburg and FC Nurnberg. Leicester survived relegation from the EPL last week with one match to spare.
The Zimbabwe international had been called up to the national team camp to prepare for the 2017 African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against Malawi, but failed to turn up after picking an injury.
“It’s unfortunate that I got injured after I was called up to the national team,” he said. “It’s a great feeling to be called up again to the national team. I hope I will be called up for the next match. But what is important is that the team won despite the circumstances they faced prior to the match. I think we have got a good chance of qualifying to the Afcon finals this time. Teams have improved. If Swaziland could beat Guinea, it means they are a very good side and we need to take them seriously.”
The Warriors are in Group L alongside Guinea, Swaziland and Malawi. They share top spot in the group with Swaziland. The Warriors play Guinea in September at home.
