Moulding personal prayer life

Opinion & Analysis
The body of Christ is one that we should be united.

NOW that we have put aside the religious issues and hypocrisy that choke our communion and fellowship with our Father, we can now move further.

Just a recap, the Father is all about developing your own prayer life encouraging you not to give up on prayer.

Religion wants you to feel guilty and condemned because you prayed for 13 minutes instead of 30 minutes or say you pray every morning, afternoon, before bed and before a journey and trip and say your trip was shifted early and you pray on a trip, Satan wants you to be fearful the whole journey that an accident is coming.

We are not in a competition to please God more than others. The Father simply wants you to run in your lane.

Your motive is very important. You’re good with God with sincere heart and clear conscience.

You will pray 20 minutes one day and preach and signs and wonders follow more than last time you went up the mountain and prayed and fasted for three days and three nights.

Just be led by the Holy Spirit and never seek man’s approval and compete with anyone.

Maybe preacher X is so gifted with the gift of healing and you become jealous and go to the mountains for 21 days in prayer and fasting. You may harvest wind.

Let’s have a look at Luke 18:9-14, “And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: [10] Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. [11] The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. [12] I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. [13] And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. [14] I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”

The body of Christ is one that we should be united.

I quote some verses of the example of the human body used by Apostle Paul to illustrate the unity that we should have in the church, 1 Corinthians 12:20,23,26-27, “[20] But now are they many members, yet but one body. [23] And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. [26] And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. [27] Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.”

This is a call to be Kingdom minded. Just entering an auditorium, all sick people get healed and if you go for 40 days prayer and fasting in the mountains, you are envious, covetous and no longer walking in love. You are walking in self effort and not grace. Just do what the Holy Spirit and you agree.

I know that in churches we often lift our monies if offerings to encourage each other but it should not be a show off.

Jesus says to the hypocrites in Matthew 6:2-4, “[2] Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. [3] But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: [4] That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.”

These days people try to outdo others in offerings, “seed” or giving. We pray that they receive the free gift of God.

We read Romans 8:32, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”

Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Grace and peace be multiplied to you through knowledge.
