Addressing a rally in Stoneridge on Thursday, Undenge said he would order Zesa Holdings to immediately electrify the suburb, home to thousands of low-income earners.
“I am happy to tell the thousands of you here that you will all have electricity by Christmas,” he announced.
“In the coming weeks, you will begin to see Zesa staffers around the area electrifying the place. From here, I am going to tell my boys at Zesa to come and electrify the place. When I come back here, I want to you to give me cold water from the fridge.”
Harare South is one of the first suburbs in the capital to record an electoral victory for Zanu PF since the formation of the MDC in 1999.
