IT’S a relegation dogfight at the Colliery this afternoon as troubled Hwange entertain equally-struggling Hardbody in a tricky Castle Lager Premiership football encounter.

Hardbody are looking at relegation straight in the face in their debut season, sitting on position 14 on the log standings with 23 points from 26 games. They need nothing short of a win in today’s clash if they are to survive the chop.
On the other hand, the coal miners are also not safe from relegation with 27 points from 26 matches and perched on 12th position on the log table.
Hardbody gaffer Godfrey Tamirepi said the Gweru side was under immense pressure.
“We hope to win in Hwange. We are playing two teams that are in the relegation zone and two that are fighting for the league title in our last matches. All the games are like cup finals. There is a lot of psychological and physical pressure, but we will have to soldier on,” Tamirepi said.
Former Hwange player Andrew Chuma, Jacob Muzokomba, Stephen Alimenda, Owen Motsi, skipper Brian Juru and Nhlanhla Ncube are some of the players that Hardbody will be hoping would carry the day for them in Hwange today.
Hwange head coach Nation Dube, whose side held Buffaloes to a 1-1 draw in Mutare on Sunday, yesterday said it was a tricky tie for both sides.

“We will know in the next two games where we stand and tomorrow’s game (today) is a tricky encounter. Of course we are playing at home and that alone has got its own pressures with the way things are because expectations will be high from our supporters. But we need not put too much pressure on the boys. We have been losing games and the point that we picked up at the weekend away from home boosted our confidence,” Dube said.
