A POLICE officer based at Ross Camp in Bulawayo was scalded with hot water by his wife after the couple arrived at their rural home and found his mistress having set base at the homestead.

This came to light when Nomathemba Moyo (40) of Ross Camp, Bulawayo, appeared before Gokwe provincial resident magistrate Shepherd Mjanja.
She was convicted of assault and sentenced to 12 months in prison of which six months were conditionally suspended for five years.
The remaining six months were suspended on condition she completed 210 hours of community service at Lotshe Primary School in Mzilikazi.
Moyo told the court that she felt provoked that her husband’s mistress had disrespected her by coming to her homestead.
Charges against her were that on September 20, Moyo and her husband Beaton Dube, whose rank in the police force was not mentioned in court, travelled to their rural home in Sigijima Village under Chief Nemangwe. On arrival at about 10pm they found Beaton’s mistress at the homestead. Moyo picked up a fight with the mistress and her husband intervened to save his mistress.
Moyo then rushed into the kitchen hut picked up a tin of boiling water from the fire and scalded her husband on the stomach, inflicting serious burns.
