AFRO-JAZZ artiste Dudu Manhenga says she has started writing a book to highlight her prison experience.

Dudu, as she is affectionately known by her fans, recently spent a week at Chikurubi Female Prison following her conviction and sentence for culpable homicide.
The High Court later granted her bail pending appeal against both conviction and sentence.
Harare magistrate Blessing Murwisi had sentenced her to 18 months in prison on her own plea of guilty to knocking down and killing motorcyclist Graham Martin Millward three years ago.
“About what I saw, heard and what happened at Chikurubi, I can say that I am not a citizen that will allow things to just pass. There are so many things that need attention and I met people that need love,” she said.
The songstress, however, said she was not yet at liberty to describe her prison experience, but would only do so in book form after the matter has been finalised.
She also revealed that she was currently working on new songs that her fans should look forward to. Her management team said they were in the process of lining up several events with both existing and potential clients.

She dismissed as “mere gossip” allegations that she would not hold shows for ordinary people.
Asked why she had failed to perform during the Africa Prisons and Correctional Day celebrations at Gwanzura stadium after her incarceration, Dudu said: “I just decided to prioritise my family. For my children to see the performance on television after I had been taken away from them would have made them believe that I was OK.”
Manhenga, who is also a Bible College student at the Pan-African Christian College in Harare, said it was not easy to be a pastor and she was looking forward to her graduation in 2016.
Manhenga was arrested after crashing into Millward’s motorcycle along Sherwood Drive in Harare’s Mabelreign suburb in 2010 while driving without a licence.
