Valentines with Bhururu will see friends and family celebrating their love with performances from talented musicians Edith Katiji aka Edith weUtonga and Clare Nyakujara together with some pampering at the gig by Beauty Spa.
“Valentines has over many decades been celebrated by lovers, with some wedding on the day and others taking advantage of getting spoiled as well as spoil their loved ones,” weUtonga said on behalf of the event organizers.
The bass guitarist said this even had not in way come to stop the original meaning of the day but to also celebrate the power of love in friendships as well.
“True friends love one another and this could mean the relationship between mother and child, amongst siblings, schoolmates, colleagues and even the lovers themselves,” she said.
The two musicians themselves have been colleagues for over a decade and along the way they also met Sibusisiwe Ncomanzi, a professional beautician who has therefore over the years been behind their grooming.
Katiji said having been in the industry for fourteen years, in between their jobs and family lives they had managed to also spend time together and that is how Bhururu was born.

“Because of our journey we then thought why not beauty and music have in one place for once with lots of vouchers and cd’s to give away,” Katiji said. The musician added that such friendships were highly important as friends were the people who would be mostly there for each other in tough times and such relationships were never really celebrated or appreciated and it was high time they were also celebrated on the 14th.
“Fans should expect great musical performances by us, on the spot pampering, beauty vouchers and cd’s to be given away on this day,” Katiji said. She added that the same evening being a Nama awards night, Bhururu being the official after-party the fans would get a chance to celebrate the winners and nominees together with them.
