The show will include Jafikoni’s paintings, fine art works, ceramics and many other pieces that reflect the work she has done over the past four years while studying for a Visual Arts degree at Chinhoyi University of Technology.
In an interview with NewsDay, the 24-year-old artiste said the exhibition would be a good platform to help initiate her into her career as it would bring with it significant exposure and a big entry into the art market.
“I have come a long way to reach this stage and there were a lot of challenges along the journey and so many tears fell during the creation of the works.
“This (the exhibition) is going to help in officially introducing me to the art market and will necessitate my interactions with the audience in the industry,” said Jafikoni.
She urged fellow inexperienced artistes to stay resilient and build their self-esteem for them to grow in the industry.
“Art is an effective way of communication so inexperienced artistes should be confident about themselves and should not be discouraged by anyone when showcasing our talent,” she said.
