A HARARE magistrate has heard that a branch manager at a fastfood outlet in the capital allegedly abused his position and commandeered a female subordinate into a disability room where he raped her twice between November 2022 and September 2023.

Xolisani Gama (47) denied the allegations on Tuesday when he appeared before regional magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa. He was remanded out of custody to July 5 for possible trial date allocation.

Prosecutor Lancelot Mutsokoti alleged that in the first count on November 22, 2022, the complainant allegedly accompanied Gama during a walk-through inspection of the restrooms.

When they got into the disability room, he allegedly raped her but she did not report the matter for fear of losing her job.

On September 14 ,2023, the complainant was again conducting her duties with Gama. When they walked into the disability restroom for inspection, he allegedly grabbed her from behind, locked the door and raped her again.
