Nigerian musician Flavour Nabania has confirmed his Zimbabwean tour and invited fans for his show through a video clip posted on You Tube and Facebook on Monday.
Flavour will perform at Andy Millar Hall on Friday with Oliver Mtukudzi and Alexio Kawara. The Nigerian musician is famed for his hit Sawale (Nwa Babe) that has proved popular with music fans across the country.
In the 37-second clip Flavour (real name Chinedu Okoli) tells fans to be ready for the show.
He begins with singing lines from Sawale and says: “What’s up people? It’s your boy Mr Flavour Nabania. I just want to let you know I will be performing live in Harare, Zimabwe, on May 25, Africa Day and it’s going down at Andy Millar, Show Grounds.
“Everybody come out, go and get your tickets. Mr Flavour live in the city! Harare, Zimbabwe are you ready for your boy Mr Flavour Nabania, all the way from Nigeria? Everybody come out let’s dance. Are you ready? You know what it is, let’s go there!”
The Nigerian musician, who returned from a tour of Canada last weekend, is expected in the country on Friday morning. It will be his first time to perform in the country.
Show organisers said they had invited Flavour to perform in Zimbabwe because they wanted to break the prevalence of Jamaican reggae musicians flooding international shows in the country.
“Our research revealed that people are now tired of dancehall and South African artists so we have decided to change from what they are used to. We have not seen a Nigerian musician performing in the country and this is an opportunity for local fans to see how musicians from that part of Africa perform,” said one of the organisers.

He has also performed other popular songs that include Adanma and Oyi, collaborating with a Mozambican musician.
Flavour is currently signed to 2nite Entertainment Music Label and his breakthrough came in 2010 when he released his second album, Uplifted, which contains most of his hits.
He has performed in countries like United Kingdom, Malaysia, Uganda, Kenya, Congo, Ghana, Botswana and Rwanda.
His combination with Mtukudzi and Kawara on Friday, should give people a memorable outing. Kawara said he was raring to go and would give fans a nicely-packaged performance.
“I have shared the stage with foreign artists before and my recent collaboration with Dutch group, Handsome Poets, was a confidence booster,” said Kawara.
“I always put maximum effort in my performances and I treat every show seriously. People should be prepared for a few surprises from us. We are ready for the show.”
