Last year’s winners of the Harare’s got Talent 3, a cappella gospel group, Firm Faith, will on July 1 release their second and latest offering titled Tinevimbo, an album with a mission to give hope and courage to all.
The event will be held in the capital.
Established in 2005, Firm Faith is a 15-member a cappella band whose members are all affiliates of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Their major rise to fame came after they left audiences astounded when they won Harare’s Got Talent 3 talent search after singing two of their emotional Gospel songs Love can turn the World and You are the Potter.
“They impressed with their expertise, from their appearance to their talent, and they had superb harmonies, especially the bass tones provided by one or two of the singers,” said Harare’s Got Talent director, Stan Higgins after their much deserved win last year.
This year the group is back with a concert-styled launch of Tinevimbo where other highly acclaimed gospel musicians including Shower Power and Joshua Maponga, a South African-based musician will also perform.
“The purpose of this album is to tell the world that there is still hope even for the worst sinner and the hope is in Jesus Christ,” said group manager Bradley Mberi.
He said the 14-track album featured uplifting songs like Tinevimbo which talks about hope in Jesus’ second coming. There is Mwoyo wako unoda Jesu apinde, a song that encourages people to invite Jesus into their lives; You are the Potter, is about how humans are but clay in God’s hands waiting to be moulded to the right shape and Love can turn the World, is about how love can reduce crime. Mberi added that the album featured other talented artistes like Joshua Maponga, Don Gumbo (Jr), son to the late Don Gumbo and United States-based musician, Bright Madakiwe.
