The award-winning author said there was something about dreams and one’s future that made people better than before.

United STATES-BASED Zimbabwean author Marjory Chikoore’s dream is to write 100 books and as many magazines before she hangs the pen.

The 60-year-old motivational writer who has so far penned 15 books and 14 magazines told NewsDay Life & Style that she has the energy to push through her dream.

“My dream of writing 100 books and 100 magazines feels insurmountable, but by faith, I believe all is possible as Paul says, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” Chikoore noted.

The award-winning author said there was something about dreams and one’s future that made people better than before.

“Growing up in a family of nine siblings with a single mother was not easy after our father died. I grew up in an environment of educated family members. My grandparents from both my mother and father’s side were United Methodist pastors,” she recalled.

“I struggled with my education, but because of persistence and determination I am a holder of five degrees namely: Bachelor of Education in Administration, Planning and Policy Studies, Master of Social Work, Master of Divinity, Master of Business Administration and a doctorate in Psycho Analytical Psychotherapy.”

Her latest offering is titled It takes 60 years to be Sixty, and some of her works include, Defining Divine Moments, Limitless, Be Encouraged, The Best is Yet to Come, Surrender and Embracing Life After Loss.

“My new book, It takes 60 years to be Sixty is a dedication to those who believe and put their faith in God. In this book, I explain that there are 60 principles that have helped me to become who I am right now,” she explained.

“I felt that it is good to acknowledge God’s goodness in our lives and remembered that we are blessed to bless others, and as a result this book is my blessing to the reader.”

She added: “This is a book that will bring out the essence of who I am and what I have been learning up to this point, after all, life is all about growing, learning and improving.”

“I am discovering that there is more to life than I ever could have realised when I was younger.”

Chikoore said she would channel proceeds of her books to her philanthropic organisation, Pop and Help.
