BY NIZBERT MOYO A 36-YEAR-OLD man from Mzilikazi suburb in Bulawayo died on the spot last week after he was hit by an unidentified motorist.

The accident happened on July 9 along First Avenue and Josiah Tongogara Street in Bulawayo.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the accident and identified the deceased as Killion Mwinde (36).

“The accused is an unknown motorist who was driving a white Mazda Demio along 1st Avenue due west. On July 9, at around 8pm, Mwinde was crossing 1st Avenue when he was hit by an unknown motorist and he fell on the tarmac, about seven metres from the point of impact,’’ Ncube said.

He said Mwinde sustained multiple head injuries and bruises on the face and died on the spot. His body was taken to the United Bulawayo Hospitals for post-mortem.

Ncube said the motorist did not stop after the accident, while the cause of the accident was due to over-speeding and lack of caution by the motorist.
