Yadah’s win over Tenax boost moral

By Courage Nyaya Yadah coach Genesis Mangombe is optimistic that his team’s win over Tenax on Saturday will ignite a good run as he seeks to keep his team afloat in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Last season they miraculously survived the relegation guillotine on the last day of the campaign, whereby they had to collect maximum points at the same time hoping results from other centres went their way. They are hoping that they do not involve themselves in such battles this time around.

Despite the win on Saturday Yadah remained in the relegation zone, but moved two rungs up the table and they are looking to continue on the upward trajectory.

“We are not even afraid of relegation because there are a lot of things that can happen in football. It’s a marathon we have a lot of games, what we only need is to avoid defeat, we have to win some of the games and will be safe. It is very  important   in respect to the way we have been posting results. I am happy for the team because we are gaining that footing ,the combinations are now clicking,” Mangombe said.

Mangombe believes their win against Tenax will raise the spirits and confidence of the younger players that are being introduced to topflight football.

“The win was very important, especially to the youngsters who are starting to get into the team  and if the team starts to win they will have the confidence. We are building a team and we are having good combinations, good responses and everything is coming up. One thing I like about the team is the intensity, the way we dominate position and the way we create chances. Now I just pray we keep on creating chances and also try to get goals like we did in the last assignment.

Yadah (11points), ZPC  Kariba (10), WhaWha (8) and Bulawayo City(6 ) are all currently in the drop zone.
