By Paul Vutete BLACK Rhinos coach Herbert Maruwa is confident his cast of new recruits will help improve his team as the army side relaunches its Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign against Caps United in Mutare on Sunday.

The fixture was postponed in December after Caps United’s players boycotted training.

Rhinos have recruited seven players in the last transfer window and Maruwa said they were all in line to be unleashed against the Green Machine.

Black Rhinos secretary-general Edward Mutukwa told NewsDay Sport that most of the newly-recruited players were going to be part of this weekend’s squad against Caps United.

“Yes, we have recruited new players, Peace Makaha from Manica Diamonds, Keith Madera from FC Platinum, Christopher Brighton from Black Mambas, Stanley Murove from Herentals, Denzel Mutudza from Herentals, Joe Nyabinde from Bulawayo Chiefs, Ngandu Mangala from Dynamos and they are all in the weekend squad,” he said.

Maruwa added that new players would add value to his team.

“I am looking forward to the guys we brought in doing the job,” he added.

He, however, expects a tough match against the Green Machine, especially with the two coming from a long break.

“It’s not going to be an easy game, considering we are coming from the break. In terms of continuity, we are affected because we lost some of our better players, including Tawanda Macheke,” coach Maruwa said, adding that he hoped that the new players would quickly settle so that they could strike the right combinations.

“Since we are coming from a break, for us, it’s now an issue of right combinations and those recruited to quickly settle”
