BY REX MPHISA SOUTH African police have launched a man-hunt for two Zimbabweans, Stanley Chiteya (38) and Dexter Tinashe (26), who escaped police custody on Monday at Mahwelereng together with a South African and Bangladesh national.

The four are said to have committed serious crimes ranging from robbery to murder.

In a statement, South African Police Service (SAPS) said the other two escapees were identified as Joseph Hlongwane (37), South African, and Mohammed Nassir (29) from Bangladesh.

“Police were allegedly alerted by other inmates about the escape and immediately launched a manhunt. Investigation into the circumstances of the escape have already commenced,” said SAPS Limpopo Province spokesman Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.

He said they were dangerous and members of the public who might come across them must contact the police.
