A CENTENARY-BASED 38-year-old woman has been arrested for attempted murder after she allegedly struck her ex-boyfriend on the head with an axe when he found her with another man.

Chemutale Mutematsaka was arrested on Monday and charged with attempted murder of Alexandra Mazarura (30).

Acting Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Naison Dhliwayo confirmed the case.

“I can confirm an attempted murder case in Centenary where Mazarura went to the suspect’s house at around 10pm and discovered that her girlfriend was in bed with another man, Stanley Shaba (40), and an altercation ensued,” he said.

“Mutematsaka then picked an axe and struck Mazarura once on the head and he fell unconscious before being rushed to St Albert’s Mission Hospital, where he is currently being admitted.”
