Siam said this yesterday in Harare during the occasion of the day of solidarity with the Palestinian people, which he said coincided with the deterioration of human rights in his country.

“We call upon the members of the international community to uphold their responsibility by taking different decisive measures collectively and individually in order to enforce Israel, which is the occupying power to abide by the international law and the international legitimacy resolutions,” Siam said.

“Not doing so will encourage this avaricious obstinate Israeli occupation State to continue its illegal activities and crimes against the Palestinian people,” he said.

United Nations (UN) secretary-general António Guterres, in a statement, said the organisation was committed to ending the Palestinian and Israeli conflict in line with UN resolutions and international law. lFollow Vanessa on Twitter @vanessa_gonye
