THREE Bulawayo men have appeared in court facing charges of unlawful entry into a company premises where they stole 550kg of barbed wire fence.

Addington Tigere (39), Aleck Mutusva (39) and Mike Sibanda (36) were not asked to plead to unlawful entry and theft when they appeared before magistrate Lizwe Jamela last Friday.

They were granted $300 bail and remanded to March 26.

The court was told that on March 6, the three met in the central business district where they connived to steal fencing wire at W and M Enterprises.

It is alleged that Tigere entered the store and took 11x50kg rolls of barbed wire fence without Tavapo Wabatagore, (an employee)’s permission.

He then threw them out of the precast wall where Mutusva and Sibanda were waiting to take the wire. They ferried it into town using a Honda Fit vehicle which was pirating along the road.

The matter was reported to the police after the theft was discovered. Investigations led to the recovery of one roll of barbed wire and arrest of the trio.

The total cost of stolen property was US$1100 and only US$100 worth was recovered.
