AFRO-POP songbird Ammara Brown yesterday said renowned choreographer John Cole’s magic has helped give her brand a cutting edge because of his silky dancing and acting skill as well as his work ethic.

She said the choreographer’s dedication to her music brand was unparalleled.

Ammara’s manager Chido Musasiwa told NewsDay Life & Style that Cole had proved to be a versatile artist and incorporating his son, Avante, in their latest project — Tichichema — helped add flavour.

“It was nice working with John Cole and we had a very long shoot and although Ammara did many projects together with Cole as the choreographer, this time around he was a dancer and actor,” she said.

“His son was also part of the act. We carried out auditions and he earned the role and executed it perfectly and the fact that he has trained him to dance also helped because the role included scenes of dance and acting.”

Musasiwa said they were confident that Avante would execute his role perfectly as they “wanted to create a different flavour”.

Ammara gushed over Cole on Twitter for the role he has played in the successes of her previous works as well as the latest offering.

“#1 trending video in Zimbabwe for 7 days straight and I am going to start by thanking my brilliant co-star @johncoleofficial. I needed someone who could dance, act, and work as relentlessly as me. He’s choreographed many of my hit songs over the years, while we also had the pleasure of acting together in a movie Far from Yesterday, once upon a time. I knew he was ‘the one’. John was busy choreographing ‘Loyal’ video by day while we learned @malo_wizy Tichichema choreo by night (sic),” she posted.

She disclosed that Tichichema was her favourite piece of art produced by the choreographer.

“John… no one can comprehend the amount of dedication you have had towards my brand and my legacy. But I must say Tichichema is by far my favourite piece of art by you and I. Only because it truly encompassed the dynamic entertainer you really are. Lest we forget your amazing son, @avantcoleofficial. What a pleasure to work with. He is an extension of your excellence and I am so honoured to have produced this video with the two of you as my leading men. Thank you for lending your gifts towards this powerful message. God bless you immensely,” she said.

The video Tichichema has managed to clock 172 906 YouTube views in just over one week.
