TOP gospel musicians Kudzai Nyakudya and Bethen Pasinawako are set to grace the launch of Methodist Church in Zimbabwe’s Echoes of Praise’s second album, Mbiri Nerukudzo, pencilled for Saturday in Zengeza, Chitungwiza.

The group’s organising secretary Fredrick Moyo said the launch was scheduled to start in the afternoon and run into the evening at their MCZ church in Zengeza 3.

“The launch will be graced by Bethen and Kudzi. The former is featured on the song titled Mwari Wenherera. Kudzi was amazed by our singing when he came during one of our studio sessions so he will be celebrating with us on this day, which means a lot to us,” he said.

Moyo said the title of the 11-track album echoes with the name of the group and carries the songs Vhangeri Ngariparidzwe, Tirimo Munzira (102 hymnal), Vazhinji Vanayo Nhaka (140 Hymnal), Matambudziko, Jesu Baba, Mwari Wenherera, Maria Magadharina, Handaiziva kuti Mwari Vanokomborera, Mukadzi Mushunemi, Munamato Wakanyaradza Jesu and Mbiri Norukudzo.

“One of the songs is in acapella and the rest have instrumentals. We actually sing acapella at church because we don’t have a band, but at the launch we are going to have a band provided by our producer Lyton Ngolomi,” he said.

The gospel outfit released its debut album Zororo NdiJesu in 2012.

Other group members are Sean Kutaudzashe, Davis Mtazu, Luke Manakira, Cyprian Waguta, Tinashe Kapata, Tafadzwa Murindagomo, Tinashe Chinoona, Agrippa Masvisvi, Jacqueline Mhandu, Yeukai Mbangani, Takudzwa Chidzambwa, Kudakwashe Chekera, Audrey Manjangi and Samuel.
