After the weekend round of fixtures, Tongogara and TelOne opened a three-point gap at the apex of the log, with the two tied on 35 points.

Tongogara, however, lead with a superior goal difference.

The two sides recorded crucial wins over FC Platinum U19 and FC Lesaffre, respectively.

Although the pair of Whawha and ZPC Munyati still have a chance, TelOne and Tongogara are both in a strong position.

Both sides have three decisive fixtures left before the curtain goes down, which could eventually shape their destiny.

TelOne have winnable assignments against FC Platinum U19, Blanket Mine and their rivals Tongogara, while the army side are also in for a date with Blanket Mine and Sheasham.

Considering the blistering form of the championship-chasing teams, this year’s promotion race looks headed for a photo finish as TelOne and Tongogara are set for an epic clash on the last day of the season.

The army side will be hoping to improve from last season, having played bridesmaids to Nichrut, while TelOne look to be this year’s surprise package by breaking into the topflight in Lupahla’s maiden season in-charge.

Whawha and ZPC Munyati, on the other hand, still fancy their chances of breaking through as they occupy third and fourth positions, respectively, with 32 points apiece.

The prison wardens bounced back to winning ways with an emphatic 2-0 triumph over MSU students while Tendai Chikuni’s ZPC Munyati remained stagnant after a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Ivan Hoe.
