ED remains President, nothing will change: Chiwenga

VICE-PRESIDENT Constantino Chiwenga on Tuesday insisted President-elect Emmerson Mnangagwa will remain at the helm of the country even after the determination of MDC Alliance presidential hopeful, Nelson Chamisa’s Constitutional Court (ConCourt) petition challenging his win on July 30.

Speaking at Inyati Imhenyu Farm in Banket on Tuesday, Chiwenga said Mnangagwa would still be President after the ConCourt ruling tomorrow.

“We are happy that you voted for President-elect Mnangagwa, who will be the President of the country after the court (ConCourt) hearing tomorrow (yesterday). Nothing is going to change,” Chiwenga said.

He said: “Some of us no longer want to hear about elections. Elections are behind us.”

Opposition and civil society organisations, have in the past, accused the Zanu PF government of interfering with the judiciary, especially during former President Robert Mugabe’s era.

    1. He is alright….who is going to be President?….on President Elect Emmerson Mnangagwa…as your Chamisa failed even a single evidence the General Elections were rigged….the only President for next five years is President Elect Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa…

  2. Sounds like a prediction from one of the “heroes” that fought for one-man-one=vote, that they will successfully tear up that vote, not only in ZEC’s offices but in the ConCourt too.

  3. Very funny, the court is sometimes an unpredictable place, prisons are packed with people who got shock judgments they weren’t expecting

  4. He is right. No change will come to Zimbabwe with ED…kkkkk

  5. So why would an investor be interested in a country dominated by such “leadership” idiocy and waste of time & money? Open for business with closed minds!! ha ha ha!!

  6. Chiwenga you need to go to school i understand your utterances though you clearly indicate that what is being said at you dont understand …you think this is 1980…you so stupid

  7. ZANU PF NOW LACKS POLITICIANS OF DISTINCTION AND THIS IS BEING REFLECTED BY SUCH RECLESS STATEMENTS MADE BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER ELECTIONS. THE GOOD THING IS THAT CONCOURT IS ON TEST TO THE WHOLE WORLD ON ITS EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR TO INTERNATIONAL INVESTORS WHAT THEY MAY EXPECT IN ZIMBABWE AND HOW TO REACT.

  8. Well said Bona its going to be the survival of the fittest as we linger on kuti baba vachauya , In short this is a very good ground for civil wars .

  10. ZANU PF and MILITARY have captured Zimbabwe as a whole and the Citizens.

No investors will come to a country where the Judiciary is captured its like throwing money into a fire to burn.

Even with a runo-ff or re-elections people will be beaen up and intimidation will increase rapidly by the Army.

No Solution for our country. #GodIsInIt
