MIDLANDS Provincial Affairs minister, Owen Ncube has urged Midlands State University students to always seek dialogue with their administrators instead of engaging in wildcat demonstrations when they feel aggrieved.

Addressing students and staff during a tour of the MSU Zvishavane campus last week, Ncube described student protests as retrogressive.
“I urge members of the university community, particularly students, to engage in dialogue and negotiations as a progressive means of conflict resolution,” Ncube said. “Engagement through dialogue is more forward looking as opposed to protests and demonstrations.”
In 2016, three MSU students took the institution to the High Court after they were suspended for mobilising other students to stage a protest over poor living conditions at the Zvishavane campus.
The court ruled in favour of the students saying the suspensions were unlawful.
Meanwhile, Ncube hailed the ongoing infrastructure development at MSU saying it provided a modern and conducive learning environment to students.
