The rising imbube group released its debut DVD album at a Sunday service at Brethren in Christ Church Lobengula last Sunday.

Group spokesperson, Mthandazo Nyoni, said the album was well-received by the people.

“We are really grateful to our fans as well as church leadership at BICC Lobengula. We really owe this to them. The album was well received and we really thank God for that. From now on, we will take the album to the people, visiting other churches around the country. We will also visit radio and TV stations announcing this exciting news,” he said.

Nyoni said the album, consisting of six gospel tracks, is “a must have”.

“The group consists of God-fearing young men. As such, all our songs are pure gospel and we are preaching Christ Jesus. We are encouraging people to follow Christ and act like him. Are you down in spirit? Do you feel discouraged? Do you feel like praising God? If so, then this is just your album,” he said.

Nyoni said they were looking forward to releasing their second album later this year.

“Plans are underway to release our second album before year-end. The album would be loaded and fans should expect wonders,” he said.

The first album titled Ngomhla Wenjabulo, consisting of nine tracks, was launched in 2016.

The outfit was formed in 2010 by Mlindeli Moyo (leader soprano) Mthandazo Nyoni (alto), Polite Ntini (tenor), Wishes Madondo, Desmond Tshele, Ricardo Mhunga, Obvious Ncube (bass).

It has used accappella and isicathamiya and mbube music as a means of growing singing talent in Bulawayo.
