Chirinda (20) yesterday said he was cleared in a mutual understanding with the South African side where he has not been getting game time after joining the club in July.

“I have not been playing since I joined the club and I am back home.

“Ubuntu Cape Town had sought to loan me back home but after a mutual agreement, the club has cleared me. I am now a free agent and weighing options from offers coming from local clubs. I will take the best offer,” Chirinda said.

Sources said the midfielder is on the verge of signing with Chicken Inn, who are yet to make a decision on who will be in charge of the technical team next year when coach Rahman Gumbo’s contract expires on December 31.

Gumbo has been linked to Highlanders and Bulawayo City while Joey Antipas is likely to bounce back at Chicken Inn.

Chirinda left Bantu Rovers in July having scored three goals for the club and played his last game against Dynamos in Harare.

He joined his colleague and captain at Bantu Rovers, Bukhosi Sibanda, who also left in July having scored 10 goals for the Methembe Ndlovu-coached side.

Sibanda has settled well at Ubuntu Cape Town FC.

Bantu Rovers, who were relegated from the Premier Soccer League have split into two entities with Ndlovu establishing the youth academy while the club’s general manager Wilbert Sibanda is now president of the senior team and will be working with US businessman Peter Grieve in launching a new team, which will adopt a new name.

Both sides will not be taking part in the Zifa Southern Region’s Division One league next year with Sibanda’s pilot project focusing on sending players to Europe where Grieve has links with a side in Gibraltar called Europa PT FC.

Sibanda will be recruiting technical staff, signing players and building the club infrastructure in anticipation of the 2019 season.
