The play — titled I Will So that You Will Not — was written, directed and produced by Muzondo.

The award-winning writer-cum-actor said after showcasing the play in Harare, it will go on a national tour as part of the 16 Days of Activism against Violence.

In the play, what starts off as a community meeting on sexual health rights for adolescent girls and women finally exposes an elderly man, played by Charles Biniweri, trying to stifle the discussion as the chief culprit and a girl child abuser.

A can of worms is opened as allegations, accusations and counter accusations become the order of the day, stimulating community discussion and action on the issues raised.

The play also highlighted the need for women to choose their representatives wisely as there is a feeling that some leaders they elect into power do not care for their rights.

The church too is not spared as some rogue pastors are fingered in the abuse of women but sometimes hide in the name of bad spirits.

The cast of Samantha Ndlovu, Lovejoy Mwaoneka, Charlotte Munyanyi, Charles Biniweri, Loveness Lutere and Muzondo himself did not disappoint as it kept fans in stitches in the production.

Muzondo said he believed his new production will have a positive impact in society.

Fellow veterans Lloyd Nyikadzino, Davies Guzha, Daniel Maphosa and Jasen Mphepho attended the show.
