Musindo said the military played a critical role in maintaining peace and stability in the country. In an interview with NewsDay yesterday, Musindo said almost 1 000 soldiers in the country were already beneficiaries of his low-income housing schemes.

He promised to develop 10 000 stands for the army by the end of next year.

“Already we have 1 300 new applicants from soldiers. In Mutare alone, we have 200 soldiers with stands. They army is doing a great service in the development of the country and it is doing quite a commendable job,” Musindo said.

“We are planning to have more stands for soldiers throughout Zimbabwe. We want to help them build houses and with the help of some financial institutions, by 2018 we are aiming to have 10 000 fully developed stands for the soldiers.

“We are going to build flats for the soldiers. Nationwide we have almost 1 000 soldiers who have benefited from our initiative. However, it’s not only the military that benefited, but all interested people from all walks of life.”

Musindo said by ensuring the peaceful transfer of power, ZDF had been exemplary to quite a lot of countries globally.

“They are maintaining peace in the country and we are proud of our army and the world has seen that Zimbabwe is a peaceful country,” he added.

Musindo is on record declaring that only Zanu PF supporters benefit from his housing projects.
