Mahachi said he will be making efforts to contact the player to be apprised on why he is not reporting for training, but absolved coach Lloyd Mutasa of any blame.

“I have to get hold of him and find out what is going on and what his problem is,” Mahachi said.

“But honestly this is a complex and challenging situation that we are faced with. However, challenging we have to get a solution and I am going to try and track him down so that I sit down with him. This is a situation where everyone who can play a part should do so. We cannot give up on him and I am sure his coach (Mutasa) has been trying his best. Every coach wants to have his best player in the team. I don’t think we can blame Mutasa for this. This is just something to do with Denver himself and he needs help. When you talk to him he listens and assures you that he has taken your advice, but then the next moment he just surprises you.”

There were also reports that Mukamba was not happy with getting substituted and has decided to stay away.

Having had a lengthy spell on the sidelines over various reasons that also include his rift with Mutasa as well as injuries and not attending training, Mukamba returned to the fold when DeMbare played ZPC Kariba in an away match where he scored the goal that gave them a point against Sunday Chidzambwa’s side.

He was also part of the team when they played Tsholotsho in another 1-1 draw, but since then he has not attended training. Yesterday the player, together with Lincold Zvasiya, failed to turn up for the gym session that the team had and are likely to miss this morning’s session.

What has been complex about Mukamba’s situation is that he has not been available even on his mobile phone and rarely spends time at home where he stays with his grandmother.

Dynamos suffered a setback in their title chase at the weekend when they lost to rivals Ngezi Platinum Stars, who with that win climbed to the top of the table while condemning DeMbare’s chances.

Mutasa would have been better equipped for this match with the experience and expertise of both Mukamba and Zvasiya who is a central defender.

While Mukamba has not been his old self, he has been influential coming up with important assists and goals which have helped the team sustain the title chase.
