Ndebele died on Saturday in a road accident 20km out of Hwange along Victoria Falls Road.

MRP secretary-general Ackim Mhlanga in a statement said: “Ndebele was flashed by an oncoming haulage truck while driving. He then hit two cows which died on the spot around 8pm on Saturday. Ndebele, who was quickly taken to hospital later died around 10:35pm due to multiple internal injuries.”

Mhlanga described Ndebele as a hard worker, whose contributions to the party will forever be cherished.

Party president Mqondisi Moyo bemoaned Ndebele’s untimely death, saying it was a loss to the MRP family.

“Ndebele’s untimely death is a big loss to the MRP family and Mthwakazi at large as he always stood firm and resolute for the fight for Mthwakazi people. He was a strong believer of the restoration agenda. I always engaged him a lot and he had no doubt that Ndebeles were going to see their independence in not so long,” he said.

Moyo said Ndebele was such a dedicated cadre who would sacrifice his hard-earned cash for the struggle as MRP is self-funded. “We lost a dedicated cadre,” he said.
