Chicken Inn remain on fourth position with 61 points while Chapungu are eighth with 44 points.

Chapungu coach Tendai Chikuni said his side missed a number of chances, especially in the first half.

“It was a game of missed chances. We created a number of chances in the first half, but we missed them. We now have to go back to the drawing board and prepare for our next match. It will not be an easy match, but there is nothing to panic about.

We need to push and finish high.”

Chicken Inn had a handful of chances in the opening minutes of the first half, but Darryl Nyandoro’s shot on the 15th minute after being fed by Clemence Matawu inside the box was too weak to bother goalkeeper Roy Mazingi.

Chapungu’s Blessing Sahondo was found wanting in the 23rd minute with only Elvis Chipezeze in goals for Chicken Inn to beat, he shot over the bar.

In the dying minutes of the second half, Chapungu could have found the back of the net when Philip Marufu’s cross found Themba Ndhlovu inside the box, but Moses Jackson cleared with Chipezeze sprawled on the ground. The resultant rebound taken by Marufu also yielded nothing as Chipezeze punched it away.
