Soweto Munsaka (29), originally from Binga, was allegedly stoned while watering his goats at Masuwe River.

His body was recovered on the shores of the river.

Officer commanding Victoria Falls police Chief Superintendent Jairos Chiwona confirmed the incident yesterday.

“He was severely beaten, left for dead and later taken to hospital on Friday afternoon. We do not know what really happened, but we are handling the matter as a murder case and investigations have been opened,” he said.

“It is very unusual for such a small town to encounter such incidences and we are working hard to bring the offenders to book. We suspect that it was robbery, which escalated to murder.”
