The collection of 53 love poems is not limited to romance, but explores the subject from various perspectives including, the love for language, love in the family and nation as well as love for animals and nature.

The Chimanimani-born Penyai told NewsDay that the 123-page book has a way of expressing love, which is common among all indigenous communities.

“The book is mainly put together in all the genres of love. The style used tells us that I am responding to the same human impulse and natural beauty, which organic poets and philosophers from New Zealand to Chimanimani and Patagonia have expressed over millennia,” he said.

Penyai said his poems are for mature reading and would provoke the reader to think through the meanings.

Penyai contributes a column that discusses Ndau Ndau cultural issues in Kwayedza.

The poetry anthology is his fourth book after Nhekwe Dziri Kanyi, Scarlet Memories and Tsuro Ngoko.
