Harare magistrate, Anniah Ndiraya suspended the sentence on condition Tongai (39) immediately pays $1 500 forthwith and the balance by July 7 this year.

Mnangagwa, who claims to be running an engineering company in Harare, was sentenced on his own plea of guilty to the charge.

The court had in June 2014 ordered him to pay $250 monthly to his former wife Shuvai Murumbi for the upkeep of their two minor children.

After Mnangagwa defaulted, Murumbi approached the court for recourse.

Devoted Gwashavanhu Nyagano appeared for the State.
