AN assembly of the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe (AFM) is hosting the second edition of the Azusa Fire outbreak conference, meant to win souls and promote spiritual growth.

The conference began yesterday and will run throughout the month on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
AFM Houghton Park Assembly pastor, Takudzwa Katena said the crusade will preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a bid to fulfil the Great Commission and its theme is drawn from Mark 16 vs15-17.
“The crusade will run for the whole month of May. It will be held from 6pm to 8:30pm and Sunday from 9am to 12:30pm. We want to punish the devil and stop any satanic nonsense within and without our vicinity,” he said.
Katena said, besides preaching the gospel of Christ, the assembly was also instrumental in participating in community development initiatives.
“Our intention is also for us to be able to reach out to our community as a community church. We want to be relevant to our local environment and the surrounding environments. This was shown by the church members, who filled up potholes on Monday as part of our social responsibility. This was done by members in conjunction with the responsible Local government authorities,” he said.
As one of the leading and oldest pentecostal churches in the country, Katena said the church does not compete with other churches, but continues to lead by example through preaching salvation to the nation.

Katena the conference will be further nourished by different powerful evangelists and pastors from various ministries.
Preachers include Paul Saungweme, a seasoned evangelist from Zaoga Forward in Faith, Never Muparutsa, a senior pastor from Pentecostal Assemblies of God in Zimbabwe and AFM’s Augustine Bura.
Other speakers include evangelist, Lillian Bwanya, a pastor at an AFM assembly in Bulawayo and AFM’s Harare East overseer, Amon Chinyemba.
