Stanley Banda (45) was ordered to pay the fine by Chegutu magistrate Felix Chauromwe, failing which he would serve a four-month jail term.

Banda was last week arraigned before the courts by his wife, Mercy Banda (43) of 23 years after he assaulted her on the eve of Independence Day for spurning his sexual advances.

Banda was represented by Taurai Chigwedu of Mangwiro Law Chambers in Chegutu while Vote Zishiri prosecuted.
