Middle-order batsman, Sean Williams (16 not out) brought up the winnings runs with a boundary, while opener Peter Moor remained unbeaten on 36 as the hosts ended on 107 for three at Harare Sports Club.

The target had been adjusted to 105 from 42 overs following a rain delay.

Afghanistan were earlier dismissed for a below-par 111 in 38.5 overs after captain Asghar Stanikzai won the toss and chose to bat first.

The visitors rued missed opportunities with no less than six batsmen reaching double figures, but none making it past 20.

Zimbabwe seamer Chris Mpofu was again a thorn in their side as his 7.5 overs yielded figures of 3-25. Earlier, rain interrupted the visitors’ innings on 96 for eight.

The fifth and final match of the series is on tomorrow at the same venue.
