The airmen, sit on position 13 with 32 points and even if they beat championship-chasing Caps United in their last game, they will not be able to steer out of the bottom four.

Zifa wants four teams to go down while PSL maintains that only two clubs should be relegated.

The Midlands’ side might be joining Tsholotsho, Mutare City and Border Strikers if the Zifa councillors win the battle to have four regional Division One champions promoted to the Premier Soccer League and an equal number dropped from the top league.

Tsholotsho are on par with Mutare City on 26 points after the former lost to 1-0 to Bulawayo City on Saturday, while the latter held Harare City to a 2-2 draw.

The stand-off between PSL clubs and Zifa has seen the former threatening to take the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to resolve the impasse.

If two teams are to be relegated, Chapungu will be safe, regardless what happens in the last match.
