Shurugwi Town Council entered into an public-private investment deal with the South African-based company in 2013 for the construction of the three-storey shopping mall.

Presenting the plan, Inductoserve Holdings director, Solomon Matsa said building materials and equipment to start construction had since been sourced.

“Today (Monday) we have presented the construction plan to town council and we expect to start with building a supermarket, three banking halls, 10 shops and a mayor’s bar,” he said.

Council chairman, Tsungai Makore said the project would change the face of the mining town and bring investment.

The multi-million dollar mall is expected to be complete within a year and would be constructed in six phases. Over 500 jobs are expected to be created through the construction of the shopping centre.
