Reginald Kawome Tsanzira (34) was not asked to plead to the charge of indecently assaulting the 18-year-old complainant when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate. Tinashe Tashaya yesterday.

He was remanded out of custody to today.

The court heard that on August 30 this year, Tsanzira visited the complainant’s home in the absence of her parents and asked her to prepare tea for him. It is alleged that after drinking the tea, he offered to assist her in her divinity studies.

The two allegedly went into the dining room and during the discussions, Tsanzira drew closer and caressed the complainant’s private parts. The girl allegedly fled the house, alerted the family’s domestic worker about the incident before taking the matter to the police.
