In Harare the multi-award-winning musician will be supported by the grandee of local music, Oliver Mtukudzi, Willom Tight and Sam Dondo, while dancehall star, Winky D alongside Jeys Marabini and Cal_Vin will be the supporting acts in Bulawayo.

Maestro Restaurant

Organisers of Black Opal Face of Zimbabwe (Bofoz) tomorrow host an event at Maestro Restaurant to parade the finalists’, who will battle it out for the crown at the grand finale set for September 17 at Andy Miller Hall in Harare. This year’s pageant will be graced by Jamaican singer, Roman Virgo, who will be supported by Jah Prayzah and dancehall chanter, Soul Jah Love.

Veteran Afro-jazz artiste, Bob Nyabinde, popularly known as the Headmaster, tomorrow entertains patrons at Bar Rouge at Longcheng Plaza Mall in Harare. Nyabinde has come a long way, with over a decade in music a career that has seen him helping several artistes to discover their touch on the showbiz scene.

Jazz 24/7

Musicians, Norman Masamba, Don Da Prince and Mbeu, tonight will take turns to entertain patrons at the Summer Jazz Warm Up show set at the recently opened home of jazz, Jazz 24/7 situated at corner Sam Nujoma Street and Robson Manyika Avenue in Harare

City Sports Bar

City Sports Bar tonight hosts the Fridays DJ Assembly dance party featuring an array of wheel spinners among them DJ Sadiq, Merciless Zim, DJ Crash and TK Beatz. The show will also see talented comic dancer, Apama spicing up the event, with his comic acts. Tomorrow. the joint will explode into a dance fête, as Phala Fala dance group and Crazy Boys take turns to entertain revellers. On Sunday, Banyana Bafana dance group will share the stage with Too Open and Afro Wave.

Peterhouse Girls High School

Afro-soul musician, Tariro Negitare will be among the resident facilitators at this year’s edition of the Music that Matters Festival that roars into life tomorrow until Friday at Peterhouse Girls High School in Marondera. The music fiesta, which features school bands, now in its third edition, is the brainchild of music teachers, Elisha Herema and Theresa Makaita Muteta, all products of Zimbabwe College of Music.

Mahusekwa Secondary School

Zimbabwe Multi-talented Youth Association (ZimTaya), a youth empowerment association that works with youths in the country’s rural districts, tomorrow hosts the provincial finals of the Miss Rural Heritage beauty pageant at Mahusekwa Secondary School. About 20 beauties will walk on the ramp for the crown at a pageant meant to celebrate cultural diversity. On the day, ZimTaya will also be launching a new project on the Rural Boy Child Empowerment Programme. Gatsi Night Club, Chegutu

Popular dancer, Beverly Sibanda and the Sexy Angels start their weekend shows tonight with a performance in Chegutu at Gatsi Night Club. Tomorrow they travel to Shurugwi to entertain patrons at Manjengwa Night Club before wrapping up their weekend programme in Harare with a performance at Holly’s Hotel

Club 263, Bulawayo

Curtains will come down tomorrow on a three days of partying, with fireworks expected at Club 263 located at 11th Avenue and George Silundika Street in Bulawayo, where several wheel spinners from as far as Botswana have been taking turns to rock it on the turntables. The club opened in style, with a three-day party that started yesterday.
