Media reports yesterday had suggested that Kariba had finally cleared Mutasa and Dynamos had hoped the highly rated player would play a part in the team’s clash against Bulawayo City at Rufaro Stadium tomorrow, as they seek to bounce back from last week’s surprise defeat to basement side Border Strikers.

Dynamos yesterday refuted claims they had received Mutasa’s clearance, saying the Kariba side continued to frustrate them.

The club’s team manager, Richard Chihoro yesterday said they were yet to receive Mutasa’s papers.

“We also read it in the newspapers, but the truth of the matter is we haven’t received the clearance letter,” he said. “Even if we were to receive it today, the PSL guys are at a workshop, so it would be difficult for us to get his licence. As it stands, I don’t think he will play a part this weekend, unless something dramatic happens between now and Sunday.”

Dynamos are desperate to have Mutasa in their line-up, as they have been going though a difficult run, which culminated in the 2-1 defeat away to basement side Border Strikers last weekend.

After the chastening, Dynamos, though, say it has given them the resolve and will bounce back to winning ways when they take on the Bulawayo City, in a match that appears winnable.

Last week’s surprise defeat came after a string of four consecutive goalless draws, leaving the Glamour Boys with all to do in the title race, as they are now 10 points adrift of league pacesetters FC Platinum after 18 matches.

But the Harare giants, on fourth position, have not broken down because of the recent set back.

“We are coming from a defeat against a team at the bottom of the log. That tells you that the second round of the season is getting tighter. We need to be at our best as we face Bulawayo City. They are in eighth position on the log and that speaks volumes about their capabilities,” Chihoro said.

“They are a team that can beat anyone and the worst thing we can do is to underestimate them. We need all the three points on Sunday to bounce back so we have to be at our best. We are coming from a defeat to Border Strikers — a team at the bottom of the log, but that has actually give us the strength.”

Although they admit they are no longer in control of their own destiny in the championship race, they remain confident they have a huge say in this reverting contest.

But as they look to recover, they will do so without Dominic Mukandi, who is serving a suspension, while Sidney Linyama remains sidelined because of injury.

Dynamos won the reverse fixture in Bulawayo and a victory on Sunday will bring them back in the championship mix.

The Harare giants coach, Lloyd Mutasa (pictured) and his assistant, Murape Murape have led the team’s revival after a disastrous start to the campaign under sacked Portuguese coach, Paulo Jorge Silva.

They have lost three matches since taking over, losing to FC Platinum, Highlanders and recently Border Strikers. They have won five and drawn four.

However, they risk starting this match on seventh position if the teams that are just below, Ngezi Platinum, Triangle and ZPC Kariba win their matches on Saturday.
