Cosmas Wiro (38) and Washington Musindo (31) will effectively serve five years and four years, respectively, after regional magistrate Adonia Masawi suspended four years and three years of their prison terms, respectively.

As part of their sentence, they were ordered to restitute the club $1 959 before October 31.

According to the State, on February 16 at around midnight, Wiro and Musindo armed themselves with an iron bar and a pistol.

They proceeded to Arcadia Sports Club and gained entrance into the bar through a small toilet window.

They confronted the security guard, who was inside the bar on night duty and hit him on the head with the iron bar.

The convicts then ransacked the bar and stole electrical gadgets and beverages worth $2 759.

They were arrested after a tip-off from members of the public.

The value of the recovered goods was $800.
