Ncube, who also can play as an attacking midfielder, is also a target of How Mine, but is seemingly angling on a return to his former club.

Yesterday, Ncube was spotted chatting to Highlanders’ technical staff at the club’s offices, with chief executive officer, Ndumiso Gumede confirming the visit.

The former Warriors defender was in the company of former FC Platinum attacking midfielder, Allen Gahadzikwa, who has been training with Highlanders of late.

“Yes, he (Ncube) was here in the morning with Gahadzikwa and they had a chat with the coaches. But I don’t know what they were talking about. Maybe the coaches will brief us as we are about to go into our weekly meetings,” Gumede said.

Club technical adviser, Cosmas Zulu said, as the technical team, they were yet to talk to Ncube, but will soon be making a decision on Gahadzikwa.

“I have not spoken to him in person. I can only confirm that Gahadzikwa has been training with us and we will be making a decision very soon,” he said.

Ncube’s local manager and Highlanders’ assistant coach, Amini Soma-Phiri, said the former Ajax Cape Town player could have just been making a courtesy call at his former club.

Kangwa, will miss Highlanders’ Castle Lager Premier League match against Triangle at Barbourfields Stadium tomorrow, as he is still out of the country. His manager George Deda confirmed that Kangwa had agreed terms with Azam and negotiations will be opened with Highlanders today.

Deda, who is based in Harare, said he will be travelling to Bulawayo today to meet with Highlanders executives over Kangwa, who Azam intend to sign for two years.

The 2016-2017 Tanzania Premier League is scheduled to start next month and Kangwa is in Zanzibar with Azam FC for their pre-season preparations and he might miss Bosso’s weekend high profile clash with Caps United at the National Sports Stadium.

Kangwa has five months remaining on his contract and is free to negotiate a new deal with any club.

“He (Kangwa) has made it. The Spanish coach (Zeben Hernandez) is keen on signing him. We are now talking to Highlanders and I will be in Bulawayo tomorrow (today) or Wednesday (tomorrow). Kangwa has agreed terms with Azam FC and he is very happy,” Deda said.

Kangwa becomes the second key player to leave Highlanders after Knox Mutizwa, who has joined South African side Bidvest Wits, where he hooks up with Cuthbert Malajila, who switched to the Clever Boys from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Meanwhile, Highlanders go into tomorrow’s match seeking a win that will restore points parity with log leaders FC Platinum, but more importantly they will return to the top of the log due to a superior goal difference.

With a win, they will also stretch their lead over third -placed Caps to four points ahead of their clash on Sunday.

They face a Triangle side smarting from a 3-1 defeat at the hands of new boys, Ngezi Platinum and they will be looking to bounce back to winning ways.

Highlanders will be looking to Prince Dube upfront for penetration in the absence of Kangwa, but the Triangle defence, marshalled by former Dynamos captain, Guthrie Zhokinyi, may prove difficult to breach.
