Ba Shupi’s manager, Wadzanai Gumbo, said that they were excited at the opportunity.

“We are humbled to have our work being pushed and recognised in all corners of the world. We have been working very hard and being chosen to

represent the country is an honour. All we ask for is the country to rally its support behind us,” she said.

Gumbo said, while they were happy to represent the country, they were also looking for sponsorship.

“We are ready to raise our flag high in Denmark and have been rehearsing non-stop from the beginning of the year until we leave. We are preparing a world-class performance, which truly represents Zimbabwe,” she said.

“However, we would appreciate any help offered regarding funding, since sponsors pulled out at the last minute.”

Ba Shupi is an actor, vocalist and songwriter, who sings a unique style of urban grooves. He rose to fame with the Godo hit-song he performed with Stunner.

Ba Shupi opened his own theatre company in Masvingo, Karanga Arts Promotions, and has worked with the Masvingo Drama Circle at schools and with different organisations such as National Aids Council and Humana People to People.
