The Ebenezer Talent Identification Programme will run until August next year with 40 talented musicians mainly from the rural areas set to benefit from free recordings and mentorship.

Chivaviro confirmed the developments in an interview with NewsDay.

“The programme seeks to identify never-recorded-before talented young gospel artistes from across the country. We already have a confirmed broadcast partner in RadioZim, while we are finalising with ZiFM, we are currently engaging other radio stations so that it becomes a concept that embraces everyone,” he said.

“Manyeruke is partnering with me in this venture and we shall be visiting schools, universities and colleges in those areas.”

He said they will identify the most promising artistes and have them record a song with the help of seasoned gospel artistes adding that they were targeting places such as Goromonzi, Arcturus, Gokwe and Bindura.

“At each centre we will pick the best and help them record a song. The songs will be compiled into five albums eventually. We are hoping out of the 40, we could unearth a number of hit making potentials. And expose as much gospel talent as we can,” Chivaviro said.

According to the organisers, a number of local studios have pledged to support the programme through offering free recording contracts to winners.
