Cole becomes the second artiste after renowned actor-cum-producer, Jasen Mphepo, who recently staged a one-man play titled A Thousand Miles at Theatre in The Park to raise money for the same cause.

Sachiti, a second year Psychology student at Women’s University in Africa, is living with a rare cancer called Benin Osteoblastoma.

Cole told NewsDay yesterday that preparations for ‘Dance with John Cole Save Tapiwa’ fundraiser were on course.

“When we released the poster the response has been amazing and artists such as Cynthia Mare, Mellow Crème, Davina Green, Vera are spreading the word through their social media platforms and other media of interaction to raise awareness for the fundraiser,” he said.

Cole said they were expecting a great turnout at the fundraiser and that it was going to be an event laced with fun and social responsibility.

The money raised at this fundraiser will cover her air fares, medical bills, accommodation and other convenient needs when she goes to India to seek treatment.
