Hozheri, who is also director of Winter Jazz Festival and Women in Jazz, told NewsDay yesterday that the opening of the joint came as a relief to jazz artists and fans.

“When Jazz 105 closed its doors to the public many jazz fans were left dejected as they had no alternative places to go and enjoy their favourite jazz musicians perform. With the opening of Time & jazz Café, which is a real home of Jazz, we want to revive those Jazz 105 days for our mature patrons,” he said.

He said there was a secure private car park for the patrons who will also be enjoying free Wi-fi courtesy of their partnership with Cresta Hotels Group.

“As we want to move the jazz genre forward, we are committed to provide what the jazz family want. We will be hosting the jazz festivals that will provide platforms for unheralded artistes to showcase their talents,” he said.

He said the new venue was strictly for jazz musicians, adding that the genre will stand the test of time despite the new dancehall craze.
