The group’s manager, Simbarashe Mambande, told NewsDay yesterday that they had not ventured into the music arena for the competition, but were using music as a tool to spread the gospel.

He said the 11-member group begun off by searching for talent among the youth and then giving them a “voice” for the work of the ministry to the nations.

“We are pastors and we have a message that we have to make sure reaches all generations. Gospel is not a beat, but rather, a message that is packaged .We package music based on how we feel the message is supposed to reach the audiences,” Mambande said.

He said plans were underway to officially launch their DVD album on August 5, after which they will travel to Masvingo and then to other parts of the country.

He said their music was a blend of various genres including soca, slow worship and rhumba and they have worked with other experienced gospel artistes including Kudakwashe Mutsvene and Shumirai Josiah.

The presence of experienced musicians, Nyasha Mutonhori and Joseph Nyakabawo, in the group has also given it a cutting edge, Mambande said.

The band was started in 2015 and their music is currently enjoying favourable airplay on local radio stations.
